Built to last

Material That Lasts a Lifetime

Thaw, spring rain, summer sun, autumn wet, another winter, and again, for fifty years or more. Install it once and it sits there through all of it, without a crew coming back to keep it going.

What timber furniture costs after the invoice

  • Crew days, every spring: sanding, staining, sealing, and the travel between sites to do it
  • Materials on repeat: stain, sealant, fasteners, replacement boards
  • Board replacement: the splintered slat, the soft end where the leg meets wet ground
  • The whole unit again: when the frame has gone and refinishing is no longer worth the crew time
  • Complaints and liability: splinters where the public sits, on furniture you own

None of those lines appear on the invoice you approve. All of them appear in your operating budget, every year, for as long as the furniture is in service.

What ours costs after the invoice

  • Washing: when it is dirty, on no particular schedule

That is the complete list. There is no finish to reapply because there is no finish. The colour runs through the board. Nothing rots because there is no wood fibre in it. Nothing splinters because there is no grain.

The saving is not a discount on the purchase. It is a recurring line removed from your operating budget, and the crew days that come back with it.

Why plastic lumber

Built for the Places Nobody Gets Back To

Public furniture fails where the crew cannot keep up with it: the legs standing in wet ground, the surface that wants refinishing, the board that splinters where people sit.

Zero water uptake
Never rots
Solid HDPE absorbs no water at all, so legs in wet ground do not swell, soften or rot out from the bottom. Freeze and thaw have nothing to work on.
Colour runs through
Never needs sealing
No coating to peel, no stain to reapply. A scratch or a gouge is the same colour as the surface, so ordinary wear does not read as damage.
No grain, no fibre
Never splinters
Bare hands, bare legs and small children are all fine with it, in year one and in year twenty.
Untreated polymer
Nothing leaches
No preservatives in the board, so it sits safely against soil, community garden beds, play areas and open water.

Not on the list? Ask anyway.

We are a manufacturer, not a catalogue. We extrude the board ourselves, so if you need something a standard range does not cover (a bench to match furniture you already have, boardwalk to an odd width, dugout seating, a memorial installation, replacement slats for frames still in service) describe it and we will tell you honestly whether we can make it.

The environmental case

Your Order Is Waste That Never Reached Landfill

Canadians throw away roughly three million tonnes of plastic a year and recycle under a tenth of it. Paint and oil pails are among the hardest pieces in that stream, dirty, mixed, low value, and usually treated as rubbish.

Those pails are what your benches are made of. Collected through Canada's regulated recycling programmes, cleaned, and extruded into solid board at our own plant in Lacombe. Buying the furniture is what pulls the material out of the waste stream. The diversion is not a side effect of the purchase, it is the purchase.

Why it stands up to scrutiny

  • Volumes are third-party audited: our feedstock comes through Alberta's regulated recycling programmes, so tonnage is verified rather than self-declared
  • A written diversion statement: the weight of plastic your specific order kept out of landfill, issued for any project
  • Recognised by the sector: Judge's Choice at the 35th Alberta Emerald Awards, 2026, for turning hard-to-recycle plastic into structural product
  • Canadian made, Canadian owned: manufactured in Lacombe, Alberta, with a second location in Georgina, Ontario

What we can put in your hands

Whatever the purchase needs to clear inside your organisation, ask and we will send it.

  • A written diversion statement: the weight kept out of landfill by your order, for a report or a target
  • Recycled content, documented: 100% recycled HDPE, from feedstock collected under regulated provincial programmes
  • A tender response: send us the document and we will answer it in the format you need
  • Board samples: something physical to put in front of a committee being asked to approve an unfamiliar material

What Would Your Project Divert?

Switch on what you are considering and drag to set the quantity. A rough guide, not a quote, but the same figure we put in writing on the statement.

6 tables
4 benches
,

That project would divert

0lbs

of plastic kept out of Canadian landfill, roughly 0 paint and oil pails.

Based on typical item weights. We confirm the exact figure for your order on the diversion statement.

How we work with municipalities

However Your Process Runs

Public buying takes longer and answers to more people than private buying. We are set up for that rather than against it.

Before you commit

Samples and a look at real material

A board sample in your hand, or come and see the yard. If there is an installation near you we will point you at it, so you can look at material that has been outside for years rather than a photograph of it.

Tenders and standing offers

Send the tender, or the specification you have been asked to match. If your purchasing runs through a co-operative, a vendor-of-record list or a standing offer, tell us and we will work with it.

Tell Us What You Are Trying to Solve

You do not need quantities, a specification or an approved budget. If you are working out whether this material suits the job, this is the right time to talk to us.

  • A person, not a portalYou will be dealing with the people who make the board, in the province you are in.
  • An honest answer about fitIf plastic lumber is the wrong material for what you are doing, we will say so and tell you what we would use instead.
  • Whatever paperwork you needSamples, a diversion statement, indicative pricing for a report, or a response to a tender document.

Before you ask

Municipal Supply, Answered

How long does it actually last?

The expected service life is 50+ years, depending on installation, use and conditions. The reason is straightforward: there is no wood fibre in it to rot and no coating to fail. What ends the life of timber furniture: water getting into the material: cannot happen here.

What maintenance does it need?

Washing, when it looks like it needs it. There is nothing to sand, stain or seal. That is the entire schedule, and it is why the operating cost is close to nothing once it is installed.

How does it handle scratches, graffiti and hard use?

The colour runs right through the board, so a scratch or a gouge is the same colour as the surface rather than a pale line through a finish. Ordinary wear does not read as damage, and there is no coating for anyone to strip.

Do you supply finished furniture, or just the board?

Both. We make tables, benches and planters, and we sell dimensional board by the piece for crews building their own. If you want something outside a standard range, describe it. We extrude the board ourselves, so there is more flexibility here than a catalogue supplier can offer.

Is it safe next to garden beds, play areas and water?

There are no preservatives in it. It is untreated recycled plastic, not treated wood, which is why it ends up around community gardens, shorelines and places where children are.

Can we get a diversion statement for a council report?

Yes, for any project. It sets out the weight of plastic your order kept out of landfill. Our feedstock comes through Alberta's regulated recycling programmes, so the underlying volumes are third-party audited rather than self-declared.

Can we buy through a purchasing group or standing offer?

Tell us how your purchasing works and we will work with it. We are members of Canoe Procurement Group of Canada, as well as the recycling and waste associations in both provinces.

Can we try it before committing?

Yes. Ask for a sample, or start with a pilot: two benches in the park that takes the hardest use. It is a reasonable way to prove a material before it goes into a capital plan.
